TEAM ROSTERS
ALL teams MUST turn in a team roster at check-in on Thursday. Please turn in any paper consent and release forms at that time.
TEAM BADGES
Please remember your team badges from your first event. They are needed for entry each morning.
TEAM ENTRY
The venue has agreed to waive the bag check for our initial opening each morning. Those people with badges will be allowed in without going through a bag-check. Everyone without a badge will be admitted through a different door where bags will be checked. They will be checking for food and drink as well as weapons so please let your parents know about this policy.
SAFETY GLASSES
Please remember your safety glasses!! Our safety glass table stock is for guests - parents, sponsors, media, etc…. Team members will not be allowed to sign out safety glasses.
Remind your team that safety glasses must be worn at all times in the pit and playing field areas. Thanks for helping to keep our events safe!
DRESS WARM
Please encourage everyone to dress warmly. We are playing on an ice-rink and the ice will still be down in the arena. It will be covered with the arena's material as well as our foam tiles over top of that. Even with this insulation, it will be chillier than our other venues. We suggest warm socks, long pants and long-sleeves under team t-shirts. Also, be sure to store materials up off the floor overnight.
MOBILE MACHINE SHOP
Yes, the Mobile Machine Shop will be on site and staffed by two machinists on Thursday, Friday and Saturday until about 2 pm.
SCOUTING BUTTONS
Yes, we will be providing each team with 3 scouting buttons. Once again we will have a dedicated seating area for scouting. Please encourage collaboration and sharing of buttons and data between your teams.
ALUMNI RECEPTION
Please encourage any FIRST Alumni you may know to join us for an Alumni Reception on Friday. All graduating seniors are encouraged to join us as well. RSVPs are required. Please share this link.
EVENT TICKETS
Please have your parents, sponsors and friends get their ‘tickets’ early. EVERYONE who attends the event will be given a button to use for admission. Tickets can be obtained here.
FOOD
Concessions will be available in the arena.
NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK. Team are welcome to tailgate in the parking lot or on the grounds outside. There is NO team food room in this venue.
GENERAL RULES AND COMMENTS
• Per FIRST Rules: NO NOISEMAKERS!! Only hands and voices making noise in the stands.
• Please, do not hold up signs during match play. Be respectful of those around you so that they can also see the match action.
• NO SEAT SAVING
• We have tried to message this out to teams as we have visited this season. But we realize that not everyone may have received the message. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for racist and sexist behaviors at our events. Please help remind everyone in your sphere that we practice Gracious Professionalism at all times when with our FIRST family. We want to make sure ALL of our students feel WELCOMED and SAFE and INSPIRED.
If you are thinking of arriving early on Thursday to help with set-up, please note this:
ONLY volunteers who have registered in VIMS will be admitted into the facility to assist. As you all know, sometimes too much help is as bad as too little. Angie and Ann, our amazing and patient and organized Volunteer Coordinators, will let you know if your help is needed. So yes we want your help. We just need all volunteers to be properly registered. Thanks for helping us manage the chaos (at least on paper).
We are looking forward to an amazing event next weekend and look forward to seeing each and every one of you and your teams. If you have any questions at any time, please ask.
HAVE FUN and GOOD SKILL to ALL TEAMS!!!!
Marie and Julia
