When you’re a FIRST volunteer, you empower students to be future change-makers. Working side by side with FIRST participants, you inspire them to use their skills to make a positive impact
on their communities and the world.

There are so many different roles to fill at each of our events. We load-in and set-up on Friday anywhere from 9:00am to a late-start of 2:00pm. Teams arrive at 5:00pm on Friday to set up and start the inspection process. Saturday and Sunday are long and exhilarating days with many different jobs that need to be filled. FIRST Mentor Network

Now, more than ever we need to empower and foster the next generation of innovators to feel hopeful, and build a better future.

The FIRST® Mentor Network is an interactive platform allowing teams and interested mentors to easily find each other for virtual (or eventual face-to-face) mentorship. The community platform provides new and returning teams access to passionate, engaged mentors, while giving mentors the opportunity to use their unique skill sets and have meaningful involvement with one or multiple teams.

Safety First!

At FIRST, student safety is always a priority. Every adult must become familiar with our Youth Protection Program (YPP). Take the time to watch our videos and read our Youth Protection materials. All adult volunteers from the United States and Canada must complete background screening through our Volunteer Registration for the safety of all FIRST team members.
